Xbox 360 Red Lights Are Flashing! Help What Do I Do Next?

As you may have guessed this does indicate that there is a problem, however do not worry as this article will explain what the lights mean so you can take further action and get back to your games.
There are four different things that the red lights can mean, and depending on what error you have a different quadrant of the power button will be flashing. Here is what they mean:
1 red light: if you have one red light which is normally flashing in the bottom right corner this means that a chip inside the motherboard that normally deals with processing the display has burnt out! You will need to either ring Microsoft support or find a good Xbox 360 repair guide to fix it.
2 red lights: this error basically means that your console is overheating and the good thing to try here is to vacuum all the dust out of the side vents and the back of the Xbox. 3 red lights: this is the most common error with the console, but also the most serious. 4 red lights: if you have four red lights flashing then I would not worry as all you have to do is check the AV cable at the back of the console and you'll probably find that it has not been plugged in. Either that or just swap the cable with a new one and you will get back to the game.
